Sauvage

SAUVAGE is a 60 ' uncompromising voyaging yacht designed for charter cruises around the world. Equally at home in a tropical lagoon or a windswept Aleutian island bay, SAUVAGE'S strong steel construction will carry you safely on your adventure.

Designed by the French designer, Jean Francois Andre, and built in Brazil, SAUVAGE is a safe, steel, offshore sailing yacht. The unique centerboard design allows easy access to sheltered shallow anchorages.

Sauvage will take you anywhere in the world with comfortable crossings and sailing so that you can explore remote and wild places.

ACCOMMODATIONS
SAUVAGE is can accommodate 6 passengers for charter cruises and 9 passengers for expedition cruises.

There are 3 guest cabins, each with a king size bed and a top bunk to be used for storage or for a 3rd passenger on expeditions. Each cabin has a private bathroom with shower and head.

SALOON
The saloon is very open and roomy. It is separated down the middle by the centerboard case and has a big teak dining table for 9 on the port side and another teak table for 4 on the starboard side. A diesel heater stove for high Latitudes keeps it a nice warm temperature inside.

GALLEY
The Galley is immediately to starboard as you come down the companion way and is fully equipped to be able to prepare excellent meals.

EXTERIOR
The cockpit is wide and well protected from the spray and wind by the pilot house. It has sun protection with a bimini top. There is a big folding table for 9 people for eating outside in the tropics and even sometimes in the cold places. The stern platform, sugar scoop, is very wide and handy to step aboard from the dinghy or for landing the fish caught while sailing on passage.

Crew

Didier and Sophie Wattrelot have over 58 years of experience on the water between them - providing an atmosphere of comfort and safety while you journey with them.

Didier Wattrelot - Owner and Captain of Sauvage. Born in 1956 in France, Didier has 30 years of sailing experience with the first 10 years in commercial fishing in France as a First mate. The following years were dedicated to sailing on his own private yachts around the world including a single handed non stop crossing from Polynesia to Falklands through Cape Horn aboard his first 38 ft cutter. After working in the Caribbean for famous charter companies aboard maxi luxury yachts as a professional captain (French sailing Master), he decided to build his own private charter cruising sailing yacht.

Didier and crew built SAUVAGE in a shipyard in the south of Brazil and launched in the water in 1995. Since that year, Sauvage has been taking passengers for adventure charter cruises around the world.

Didier is not only fond of sailing but also of free diving, spear fishing which he practices a lot in Polynesia in the lagoons and passes and loves showing people the beauties and wild life underwater; he also is a good hiker. Didier speaks French and English.

Sophie Wattrelot - Hostess, cook, deckhand and translator. Born in 1967 in France, Sophie did her first Atlantic crossing aboard a charter catamaran at the age of 19. Since then she has worked full time on various maxi yachts and charter boats as a hostess, cook and deckhand.

Sophie has gathered lots of recipes from all over the world and loves cooking for the guest aboard Sauvage. She loves sports and practices paddle canoe, windsurfing, surfing, skiing, snowboarding, kayaking.

Sophie speaks French, English, Portuguese and Spanish.
